There are four main factors to consider in limiting the risk of infection(ASF) :

Isolation | KEEP A SAME PIG POPULATION ISOLATED :

They are used to live with their own microorganisms
They don't have the same contamination level
Check where new born animals come from
If one is sick, immediately isolate it
Avoid to introduce new animals during breeding period,
Do not mix new born pigs, weaned piglets, fattening and reproductive pigs
Move a population - move it all at once

Control of access | LIMIT THE RISK OF INTRODUCING NEW DISEASE BY :

Farm access limitation to the animals
Inform suppliers where they are allowed to go
Provide visitors with boots, gloves and head protection
Keep traceability of in and out movements
Avoid circulation of pets or others animals
Put wheels dips and foot dips to the strategic points
Keep in mind the principle of "ALWAYS MOVE IN THE SAME DIRECTION"
